LOWER SALFORD PA – Friday (June 30) represents the second day of road repairs in Lower Salford Township, which may affect drivers in certain areas. Contractor AMS Paving was scheduled to apply a cape seal treatment to nine township highways on Thursday (June 29); another nine are due to be treated.
Affected Friday will be:
- Winding Creek Way,
- April Hill Way,
- Wrenfield Way,
- Whittaker Way,
- Championship Drive,
- Par Circle,
- Sand Trap Circle,
- Putting Green Circle, and
- Red Fox Run Road.
Property owners on those streets are asked to remove all vehicles, trash and recyclable receptacles, and any and all sporting equipment from the streets so work can proceed. AS usual, the contractor’s work schedule depends on acceptable weather.
A cape seal treatment is “designed to extend the life of pavements in fair to good condition,” according to the Road Resource website.
It consists of “a chip seal treatment, which is then covered by a slurry seal or micro surfacing treatment,” Road Resource stated. Its benefits include “sealing moderate cracks, providing skid resistance, sealing the pavement against moisture, protecting the structure … and restoring a uniform black appearance.
Scheduled for completion Thursday were Pioneer Circle, Surrey Lane, Arrow Lane, Flint Drive, Manor Road (Belcourt Manor side of Alderfer Rd.), Belcourt Way, Summerwind Lane, Sunset Drive, and Brookdale Lane.
