POTTSTOWN PA – Attend at your own risk if you visit the Haunted Woods at Althouse Arboretum on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 9-10, 2026) from 7-9 p.m. Once there, expect to meet spooky characters hiding among its trees.
Walking in the woods at night can be scary enough. But adults, be forewarned. The arboretum staff has planned an “supernatural” experience to make your heart race.
Howls, screams, scares, and things that jump out of the forest can be expected to be encountered on both nights. That also means the event is not suitable for young children, the arboretum cautions.
Tickets cost $10 per person, and are available at the arboretum entrance, 1794 Gilbertsville Rd. No advance registration is required.

The Kids Have Not Been Forgotten
The arboretum also has planned its family-friendly night hike, this year dubbed “The Great Troll Trek,” for Oct. 23-24 (Friday and Saturday) from 6-8 p.m. It is billed as “a troll excursion full of excitement, music, and mystery!”
The evening includes games, snacks, and outdoor movie, the hike over candle-lit trails, story-tellers, and other activities. Additional food items will be available for purchase.
The result: a non-scary alternative intended for children. All participants are encouraged to wear costumes.
The entrance fee is $15 per car, collected at the gate. It includes parking, the entrance fee for all individuals, the movie, and crafts and fun during each evening.
