POTTSTOWN PA – Rosemary Keane, a borough resident with years of experience in local non-profit organizations, is the new director of development and communications for the Pottstown Regional Public Library.
Keane “brings extensive expertise in fund-raising, donor stewardship, and strategic communications“ to the non-profit library, its board of directors says in a Monday (June 29, 2026) media release. She most recently served as communications director for the Schuylkill River Greenways National Heritage Area, also in Pottstown.
In the new role, the board adds, Keane will be responsible for:
- Leading library fund-raising, donor relations, and community engagement efforts;
- Expanding philanthropic support, and strengthening donor and community relationships; and
- Increasing awareness of the library’s impact throughout the region.
Joining at a ‘Pivotal Time’
The position was made possible with a grant from the Switchpoint Foundation. It recognized “the role’s importance in building the library’s long-term financial sustainability.” Switchpoint’s investment ensures “the library can continue its programs and services for years to come,” according to the release.
Ashley Abbey, board Development Committee chair, reports “Rosemary is joining the library at a pivotal time. After several years of strengthening our financial foundation, we are now focused on securing the future through the Clay Ryce Memorial Endowment Fund while preparing for a season of growth.”
Regarding her new role, Keane says the library “is a vibrant and vital resource” for Pottstown borough and surrounding communities. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to join an engaged team working to improve and preserve it for future generations.”
The library serves residents throughout the greater Potstown area. It provides free access to books, educational programming, workforce resources, and lifelong learning opportunities for people of all ages. For more information, call the library at 610-970-6551.
