Sign GoFourth! Banner, and Make Local History

June 10, 2026

POTTSTOWN PA – As America prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday, Pottstown GoFourth! is inviting community members and businesses to help make local history … with a banner.

Pottstown GoFourth! is the non-profit, volunteer-led group that for the past 10 years has organized and promoted free Independence Day festivals in Memorial Park on West King Street. Its 2026 efforts will result in hours of family-friendly activities, live entertainment, food and beverage vendors, and fireworks on July 4.

The organization has created a new initiative, “We The People: The People Behind the Party,” that gives residents, businesses, organizations, and festival supporters an opportunity to add their names to a commemorative banner. The banner will be displayed throughout the festivities in the park.

Banner signatures are being solicited now online, and are anticipated to fill the display during the weeks leading up to Independence Day. It also is expected to grow throughout the festival, creating a visual tribute to the people who help make the celebration possible.

“This celebration has always belonged to the people of Pottstown,” says festival Co-Chair Amy Francis. “The ‘We The People’ banner is a way to recognize the individuals, families, businesses, and organizations that help make this day possible.”

A History-Inspired Campaign

The online campaign offers several participation levels. All are inspired by American history.

  • We The People: For a $25 donation, add your signature to the community banner;
  • Betsy Ross: $100, receive a larger and more prominent signature;
  • John Hancock: $500, make a bold statement with a signature that stands out among the crowd.

Donors are encouraged to add their names to the banner before July 4. Participants who add their names before the celebration starts will receive a complimentary Pottstown GoFourth! “Ride With Pride” commemorative car badge, while supplies last.

Festival Co-Chair Amy Wolf adds that the banner is intended to celebrate the people who help bring the festival to life each year. “Every name on the banner represents someone who chose to be part of something special, Wolf says. “By July 4, we hope it tells the story of a community coming together to make this day possible.”
