Success A Happy Problem at Food From The Soul

POTTSTOWN PA – Food From The Soul, which has been located at 384 E. High St. since it opened in Pottstown during 2023, now is on the move.
The family-operated soul food restaurant dropped hints on its Facebook page during the past two months that it was considering a new location. Gradually, in subsequent posts, the owners revealed their new address would be further downtown: 133 E. High St.
An opening date at the new site has yet to be announced. Its space is still being renovated and decorated, a Feb. 9 (Monday) video shows.
“Give us a few weeks,” management told customers Jan. 31. “We have a few touch-ups” to finish, it noted.
Fortunately, Food From The Soul was faced with the best of possible problems. “Because of all of your love and support, we have outgrown” and closed the earlier location, the family explained to its patrons.
A Diverse and Popular Menu
The restaurant’s success is due to what commenting customers claim is good service, as well as its diverse and highly popular meals. Some dishes are based on handed-down recipes.
The current menu includes four different full meal choices – fried chicken wings, fried fish, jerk wings, and fried jumbo shrimp – all accompanied by two side dishes and cornbread. Additionally, it serves up appetizers, specials (beef short ribs, oxtails, jerk salmon, and baked ham among them), combination meals, and desserts.
There’s sure to be more of the same, and possibly surprises too, at the new location. “Thank you so much, everyone,” the family added. “We can’t wait to see you all soon.”

Punch Buggy Brewing Pursues A Pub in Spring City
SPRING CITY PA – A small borough knows it has made the big time when a brewery borrows its name for a beer.
That happened last May, just before the Philadelphia Business Journal reported plans by Philly-based Punch Buggy Brewing Company to open a second taproom location at 77 Main St. in Spring City. As part of the promotion, Punch Buggy introduced a limited-production “Spring City Lager.” Donations from its sales benefited the community pool.
Spring City Mayor Adam Alberico, in a video, described the beverage as a “unique brew that reflects our rich history.”

Punch Buggy hoped the new location would be up and running by October 2025. In a following post on Facebook during November, the company reported it was still “working hard on it.”
Good news: the Spring City opening seems to be getting closer, according to “What Now Philadelphia.”
A Comfortable Pub
What Now is an online news network that covers restaurants, retailing, and real estate in more than 30 cities nationwide, and includes a greater Philadelphia edition. Its regional reporter, Courtney McGinley, recently wrote that Punch Buggy now hopes for a Spring 2026 opening.
Brewery co-owner Patrick Coyne is looking forward to the expansion, telling What Now Philadelphia he foresees “some opportunity” in Spring City.
The Main Street location’s interior likely will reflect the comforting feel of a familiar, old-time pub. Its furnishings are being finished locally. Works by local artists will adorn the walls. Patrons can look forward to beer-and-food pairings too. Deezy’s Famous Cheesesteaks of Pottstown intends to open a kitchen there, What Now Philadelphia reported.
Punch Buggy’s products will dominate the liquid refreshment, across what the Business Journal said will be 12 taps. Over time, the What Now Philadelphia article suggests, the brewery may even debut another locally influenced beer or two … following in the tradition of Spring City Lager.
