NEW YORK NY – Plenty of American children grew up dreaming of what Santa Claus might bring them for Christmas. Some of them are now adults who, despite knowing the truth about his existence, still hope Santa’s out there somewhere … waiting to surprise them.

Keep nurturing that hope, a travel marketer suggests. You never know when such dreams may come true.
A New York-based marketing and communications agency named Wayne’s World Media, in a Monday (Dec. 22, 2025) e-mail, claims a cruise line it represents could fulfill the holiday travel wishes of area residents with just a “stocking stuffer” from Santa himself, or a special substitute.
Admittedly, it is an “ultimate stocking stuffer,” the e-mail adds. Australis Cruises is offering a trip “at the end of the world,” costing about $1,700 per person, based on double occupancy.
No, the cruise ship bound for Argentina, Cape Horn, and Wulaia Bay won’t fit into a stocking. However, a gift certificate for the cruise (ostensibly to be gifted by family member or a REALLY great friend, either substituting for Santa), easily rolls up and fits into a sock with room to spare.
Patagonia, A Santa-Selected Destination

For potential travelers Australis describes the cruise destination, Southern Patagonia, as “a first-hand encounter with glaciers, penguins and untouched nature.” Guests on its “Patagonian Explorer” tour will visit lands in South America, only 620 miles north of Antarctica.
The cruise line also promises to provide “discovery” excursions “with off-board access to hidden bays and forests,” accompanied by “a labyrinth of islands and channels rich in history.”
In preparation for a Patagonian Explorer trip:
- Pack for five days and four nights;
- Don’t bother to bring snacks. The all-inclusive tour provides all meals and an open bar for beverages;
- Prepare to get your exercise. Expeditions are part of the adventure; and
- Plan for cool weather, Australis warns. Temperatures where it is headed range between 37 and 54 degrees, and the chill of winds blowing at between 19 and 37 miles an hour could affect individual comfort.
Pricing Choices Depend on Cabins, Dates
Australis features a variety of different trips across the two-nation (Chile and Argentina) Patagonia region, its website shows. They vary in lengths of stay and cabin choices, and sail on dates generally between the months of September and March.
Patagonia Explorer best buys, labeled as the “promo” season, are found at the very start and end of the period. That’s when costs range from $1,695 to $3,435, depending on Santa’s choice of accommodations.
During the “low” season, consisting of weeks in October and March, price ranges jump from $2,466 to $4,646. The best travel period, of course, is the most expensive. That runs in cost from $3,357 to $6,927.
Check Other Travels Options
Maybe you don’t expect to see or hear from Santa anytime soon. That’s OK; treat yourself.
