PennDOT Work Affects Limerick, Lower Frederick Drivers

PennDOT Work Affects Limerick, Lower Frederick Drivers

December 8, 2025

LIMERICK PA – A pipe replacement project on Game Farm Road, scheduled for Dec. 10 (Wednesday) through Dec. 19 (Friday), will affect travelers in both Limerick and Lower Frederick townships, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).

During weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the road will be closed and detoured between Neiffer Road and Main Street, the department reports. As an alternative while the work proceeds, traffic will be re-directed over portions of Route 29 (Main Street), Route 73 (Big Road), Neiffer Road, and Game Farm Road.

All scheduled activities will depend on appropriate weather. Because of the restriction, drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area. Backups and delays are likely to occur, PennDOT warns.

Check Roadway Conditions Anytime

Drivers can check conditions on major roadways online at 511PA.com. The website provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, and traffic speed information. It also offers access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras, is free to use, and remains available 24 hours a day. Similar information is available by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional alerts on “X,” formerly known as Twitter.

A 511PA app for both iPhone and Android devices is offered for download to smart devices from their respective app stores.

PennDOT maintains a regularly updated database of planned and active construction projects, also online, at its DOT Projects website. Relevant county-related traffic news is also supplied by subscription e-mail for Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. Sign up for subscriptions at the department’s District 6 webpage.

PennDOT posts to its Facebook, Instagram, and “X” sites as well.
