EXTON PA – Citadel Credit Union says it is better positioned to serve local businesses with a recently completed expansion of its business services team.
The credit union reports it has nearly doubled the team’s size during the past year. Relationship managers, directors, and lending specialists have been added across southeastern Pennsylvania and Philadelphia, with decades of experience from leading regional institutions.
Additionally it has received a new Small Business Association lending certification, and can offer flexible, government-backed financing options that expand access to capital.
Citadel also says it continues investing in seamless digital tools that make business banking easier, faster, and more secure. They include advanced cash management and payment platforms, payroll integration, and fraud prevention.
Citadel’s business banking team is “designed to meet the needs of entrepreneurs, small businesses, and growing enterprises,” the credit union says. Its team members blend “deep regional expertise and advanced technology with the relationship-driven values,” it adds.
Headquartered in Exton, Citadel operates more than 20 branch offices in Pottstown, Limerick, Phoenixville, Harleysville, and elsewhere across Southeastern Pennsylvania.

A New Podcast, and Future Growth

The division is led by Tom Sebok, chief commercial banking officer, and John Zarrillo, head of business banking. Michael Desimone is the credit union’s chief lending officer.
“Credit unions are no longer the small players people once assumed,” according to Sebok. “We’re demonstrating that a not-for-profit, member-owned credit union can deliver the same level of expertise, technology, and credit solutions as the largest banks … with a community-focus.”
To share local business stories and practical insights, Citadel has launched its “Open for Business” podcast. Hosted by Sebok, it features conversations with Greater Philadelphia entrepreneurs and explores the challenges and opportunities of running a small business. Episodes are available on major podcast platforms, and on Citadel’s website.
Citadel continues to grow, too, says President and CEO Bill Brown. It intends to open at least three branches in Philadelphia during the next two years.
“Our goal is simple,” Brown reports; “to be the trusted financial partner that helps local businesses grow, hire, and build stronger communities.” To that end, he adds, Citadel delivers cost-effective financing, lower fees, and more personalized guidance to “help business owners thrive.”
