POTTSTOWN PA – Area residents are invited to attend two special holiday events – an instrumental concert, and an annual “Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols” – scheduled during December (2025) on-campus at The Hill School. Both are free and open to the public, with free parking also available at 760 Beech St.
The Winter Holiday Concert
Hill School musicians will take the stage Dec. 13 (Friday) at 7:15 p.m. in the main theatre of its Center For The Arts, 766 Beech St., to perform their annual winter holiday instrumental concert.
The Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble, led by senior master teacher of the arts and Director of Instrumental Music Margie Neiswender, will entertain the audience with a variety of holiday favorites. They include “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Angels We Have Heard on High,” and “Jingle Bell Rock.” Additionally, for those unable to attend, the concert will be livestreamed online.

The Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols

Then on Dec. 15 (Sunday) at 7:15 p.m. in its Alumni Chapel, The Hill will host its annual Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols. It will be preceded by an organ prelude to the service, scheduled from 6:45-7:15 p.m.
The service represents a night of worship and holiday spirit. It features the congregational singing of traditional Christmas carols, and readings of scripture by members of the Hill community.
Also presented are musical offerings by the Hill Chamber Choir and Chorus, the Hilltones and Hilltrebles, and the Hill Community Choir comprised of students, employees, alumni, parents, and siblings. It, too, will be livestreamed online.

Helping Others This Holiday
The Hill School events are intended to bring smiles to their audiences. With public help, they also can bring comfort to others less fortunate.
At both, the Hobart’s Run neighborhood group will collect gift cards and clothing items for the Beacon of Hope Warming Center, to benefit and support to Pottstown residents experiencing homelessness. Collection bins will be placed in the Center For The Arts lobby on Dec. 13, and near the Alumni Chapel entrances on Dec. 15.
Beacon of Hope has requested gift cards for use at Target and Walmart; $10 gift cards for McDonald’s and Wawa; men’s underwear and T-shirts in sizes L, XL, and XXL; and men’s and women’s sweatpants and sweatshirts in men’s sizes M, L, XL, and 2XL, and women’s sizes S, M, L, XL.
