POTTSTOWN PA – An October class that will teach participants about life-saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and a November community health fair, are now scheduled by the staffs of Pottstown Medical Specialists Inc. (PMSI). Both are open to the public.
October’s CPR Class
Individuals who successfully complete the CPR class are in a position to assist family, friends and neighbors suddenly stricken by a heart attack. It consists of chest compressions and rescue breaths that may save someone whose heart has stopped beating, or who has ceased breathing.
The class is planned for Oct. 22 (2025; Wednesday) from 6-9 p.m. at the PMSI Healthy Living Center, 1566 Medical Dr. Ste. 201, Pottstown PA. It costs $55 per person, but offers a two-year certification in CPR and the use of automated external defibrillators. Class size is limited, and advance registration is required.

November Fair at Pottsgrove High
This year’s PMSI Fair takes a broader look at personal health, organizers say. It includes free health screenings, free LabCorp A1c tests to measure average blood sugar levels over a 3- month period, the availability of flu shots, and a variety of healthcare vendors and providers.
The event is scheduled for Nov. 8 (Saturday) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside the cafeteria of Pottsgrove Senior High School, 1345 Kauffman Rd.
Veterans will receive a free Veterans Day gift to recognize their service. PMSI also will collect non-perishable food items for the Coventry Food Pantry. Additionally it will conduct a raffle with several prizes, and offer snacks.
The fair is sponsored by manufacturers Abbott, Lilly, and Dexcom, and healthcare providers LabCorp, PMSI, and the PMSI Healthy Living Center. For more information call PMSI at 484-224-9655
