Four Local Government Events Planned Sept. 25 to Oct. 19

ROYERSFORD PA – Four activities intended to engage the public, and local and state government officials, are scheduled between late September and mid-October, 146th District state Rep. Joe Ciresi reported Friday (Sept. 12, 2025) in a weekly newsletter.

The list of events-to-come are relevant, respectively, to:

  • West Pottsgrove residents;
  • Seniors and others who fear the rise of frauds and scams;
  • Those affected by potential impacts of federal government budget cuts, and delays in passage of the Pennsylvania budget; and
  • Lower Pottsgrove residents who want to rid themselves of clutter.

West Pottsgrove Meet-And-Greet

Sept. 25, West Pottsgrove Commissioners’ Meet and Greet, starts at 6:30 p.m., free attendance; public opportunity to meet and talk with the township Board of Commissioners and locally-elected state officials; time available for questions-and-answers period, coffee and doughnuts provided; held at the township building, 980 Grosstown Rd., Stowe PA.

Helping Area Seniors Avoid Scams

Oct. 3, “Popular Scams and How to Avoid Them,” 10 a.m. to noon, free admission (advance registration required, call 484-200-8265); presented by state Rep. Joe Ciresi and the Pennsylvania Department of Banking & Securities; learn tips to protect yourself from common scams, accompanied by light refreshments and a game of “fraud Bingo;” held at the Royersford Free Public Library, 200 S. 4th Ave., Royersford PA.

Federal Cuts and Budget Delays

Oct. 15, Interactive Town Hall, 7-9 p.m. (doors open at 6:45 p.m.), free participation; featuring state Reps. Ciresi and Paul Friel (whose districts cover portions of western Montgomery and northern Chester counties), and the Pottstown Chapter of the NAACP; intended to discuss “impacts and timelines related to federal budget cuts, and the late passage of the PA state budget;” held at the TriCounty Active Adult Center, 288 Moser Rd. Ste. 1, Pottstown PA.

Rid Yourself of Unwanted Paper

Oct. 19, Paper Shredding Event, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., free participation; co-hosted by state Rep. Joe Ciresi and Lower Pottsgrove Township; shredding limited to four boxes or bags per household, remove large binder clips; plastics, CDs, or anything other than paper products not accepted; held at Pottsgrove High School, 1345 Kauffman Rd., Pottstown PA.
