PENNSBURG PA – “Two new (and) very different art exhibits” – presenting sculptures and quilts, respectively – have been installed and are now on display at the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, 105 Seminary St.
Opened just this week, the center reports, is “Lehigh Art Alliance Sculpture: Celebrating 90 Years.” Also, opened earlier this month and on exhibit through Dec. 15, are “The Quilts of Evelyn Moosher.”
Sculpture Show Marks An Anniversary
The Lehigh Art Alliance exhibit features contemporary sculptures, with works displayed inside the building and out. They will remain on view in the center’s Fraktur Gallery through Oct. 10 (2025; Friday). A free-to-attend opening reception for the sculpture show is scheduled for Sunday (Aug. 31) from 2-4 p.m. in the center.
The Bethlehem PA-based non-profit alliance consists of artist community members. It focuses “on promotion of our membership through professional quality exhibitions,” as well as “furthering knowledge of fine art in the Lehigh Valley region,” its website notes. Founded in 1935, the alliance in 2025 marks its 90th anniversary.
A Talented Quilter, A Family Collection

“The Quilts of Evelyn Moosher” displays the multiple talents of a former Telford resident who for many years was a well-established instructor of sewing and quilting.
She “created a legacy of beautiful work for her family and friends,” the center explains, and its Putera Room exhibit consists of a loaned selection of treasured family pieces.
Moosher also donated her time and talents to those she never met. She was active with projects operated by “Quilts for Kids,” a Pennsylvania non-profit that distributes quilts for children who experience illness or trauma.
At Work in the Upper Perkiomen Valley
The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center serves as the regional history museum for the Upper Perkiomen Valley. It is open Tuesdays through Sundays, with free admission to visit exhibits or research in its extensive library.
