Heritage India Festival Expanding Aug. 23-24 to Oaks

Heritage India Festival Expanding Aug. 23-24 to Oaks

August 6, 2025

OAKS PA – The Heritage India Festival, which began in the Washington DC area and became well-known as a regional South Asian cultural, arts, and commerce event, is coming Aug. 23-24 to Montgomery County.

With all vending spaces sold out, Heritage India is anticipated to offer cuisine from top South Asian restaurants. It also presents a variety of shopping opportunities, and information about culture and South Asian life.

Heritage India Festival Expanding Aug. 23-24 to Oaks

The festival is scheduled for Aug. 23 (2025; Saturday) from noon to 9 p.m., and Sunday (Aug. 24) from noon to 7 p.m., in Hall C at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, 100 Station Ave. Tickets cost $5 (cash only), and are available at the door for all who attend from age 6 and older. Children age 5 and younger will be admitted free. Plentiful free parking is nearby on-site.

Be ready to eat your fill! Top restaurants at the festival will be producing “sumptuous cuisine” ready for sampling. Their “culinary delights” are expected to include South Indian curries, Gujarati Farsan, and Maharashtran delicacies. Also on their menus are street foods such as kabobs, papri/samosa chaat, bhel puri, mirchi bhajias, Chicken 65, bondas, idlis, vadas and other items.

Regional specialties and fusion foods include chhole bhature, Hyderabadi biryani, desi pizza, dosas, and wings. Also offered are Indian sweets, sugar cane juice, masala chai/coffee, kulfi, and ice cream.

A Bazaar Filled With Unique Items

For those seeking unique fashion items, Heritage India organizers claim the festival represents an “ultimate shopping destination.” The festival’s shopping bazaar and its more than 100 vendors, all under one roof, features:

  • South Asian and western garments, and jewelry;
  • Purses, bags and other women’s accessories;
  • Men’s ethnic apparel, including kurtis and full sets;
  • Children’s garments and accessories;
  • Designer wear and high-end jewelry; and
  • Paintings and artwork, home decor products, and specialized services

“Vendors from all over North America (are) offering incredible variety and bargains,” organizers report.

Rushhi Entertainment Inc. has presented its multiple award-winning Heritage India Festival series since 2001. During 2025 it is expanding for the first time to the Philadelphia area (in Oaks) and in Richmond VA, the company says. Its festival events usually are held twice annually, in addition to traditional Mother’s Day and Diwali festivals in Chantilly VA.

More information on the company’s festivals is available in its periodic newsletter. Those interested can subscribe using an online form. The Heritage India Festival is a promotional partner of the King of Prussia-based Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board.
