CHDC Grant Allows Expanded Behavioral Health Support

Patient-centered mental health support, with both in-person and virtual visits, will be available, according to Community Health CEO Bridgette McGivern. A competitive national grant presented by the Health Resource Service Administration is intended to “increase access for people to receive these qualified services,” she adds.

“Comprehensive behavioral health and psychiatry services” can be offered “to all CHDC established medial patients,” CHDC says. Support and treatment is being provided for individuals struggling with depression, substance abuse, family and relationship issues, grief and loss, or school and work stress.

CHDC currently provides a variety of family health care services to more than 29,000 registered patients across southeastern Berks, western Montgomery, and northern Chester counties. Its care includes it says. It primary care center is located in The Shoppes of Coventry, 351 W. Schuylkill Rd.

Staffing in Psychiatry, Behavioral Health

For psychiatry, CHDC announced that medical provider Collette Hain, MSN, CRNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, is now a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She will see patients of all ages on-site at The Shoppes of Coventry location, or virtually. Psychiatry appointments are scheduled through internal referrals, following required consultations.

For behavioral health, CHDC also has added a new provider, Laura Galindez, LCSW, at The Shoppes at Coventry. Galindez is an experienced psychotherapist, social worker, and health coach.

She joins Andre Hewitt, an experienced behavioral health provider. Hewitt works with children and adults who face a wide range of mental and emotional difficulties. They include anxiety, depression, anger, and impulse control.
