Locally Operated CPA Firm Wins National Recognition
POTTSTOWN PA – Herbein + Company Inc., a certified public accountant advisory firm that operates offices in Pottstown, Royersford, Reading, and 11 other locations, has won a national award.
INSIDE Public Accounting (IPA), which surveys and reports on accounting firms and their professional practices, listed Herbein as one of the Top 100 accounting firms in the United States for 2025, according to a Thursday (July 31) media release. It’s the first time Herbein, now ranked at No. 100 among 500 firms, received the honor.
IPA annually ranks the largest public accounting firms in the U.S. based on net revenues. Its ranking data is captured through comprehensive annual practice management surveys, and analyses of firms nationwide.
“This inaugural recognition reflects our team’s unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional value and innovative solutions to our clients,” Herbein CEO David W. Stonesifer says. Its acknowledgment as one of the nation’s leading accounting firms “demonstrates that our client-focused approach and dedication to excellence continues to drive meaningful results,” he adds.
Herbein + Company Inc. was founded in 1972. The firm says it provides “client-focused accounting, tax, advisory, HR consulting, wealth management, and risk management services” from offices across five states and internationally. It also is an independent member of Allinial Global, an accounting firm association.

Children’s Hospital Opens Cardiac Center in Temple

TEMPLE PA – Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) has opened a Reading PA-area cardiac center satellite location at 5101 Allentown Pk., it reports in a media release. It will offer care for pediatric patients with congenital and acquired heart diseases.
The center will be led by pediatric cardiologist Dr. Louis Hansrote and a team from CHOP’s Cardiac Center in Allentown. They will see patients at the Reading location on the second Thursday of each month. Cardiology clinic visits for new and existing patients can be scheduled, along with non-invasive testing. Tests include electrocardiography, Holter tests, and echocardiography.
CHOP now sees patients at 16 cardiac center outpatient locations throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The non-profit claims it is “one of the largest outpatient cardiology services in the country.” Its cardiac experts also partner with more than 30 regional community hospitals on consultations, electrocardiography, and echocardiography services.
