BIRDSBORO PA – Sit back, relax, nosh a bit, and enjoy a cold beverage during the annual after-hours event at the Daniel Boone Homestead, 400 Daniel Boone Rd. Its “Evening on the Green” is scheduled for Saturday (June 21, 2025) from 4-8 p.m.
The night offers “lively music and delicious food and drink in the historic ambiance of the homestead.” Famed frontiersman Daniel Boone was born there in 1734. Visitors will also witness a colonial beer brewing demonstration, and learn more about brewing history in 18th Century Pennsylvania.

Throughout the evening, visitors can purchase a brew and other beverages at a pop-up biergarten hosted by Pottstown-based by Sly Fox Brewing Company. Wine and mead will be available as well, sold by Ridgewood Winery and Stonekeep Meadery. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be offered by two food trucks, Wow Wagon and Munchiez.
A variety of craft and specialty food vendors will be on hand too. The sellers include Edible Addictions, Malizzi Cakes, Naturally Lathered Tallow, Paisley & Company, and Spook Hill Collective.

Live music on the lawn will be provided by two bands, both returning from earlier Evenings on the Green. Haycreek Valley Goldband provides traditional folk and roots music with five-pieces: guitars, banjo, violin, and percussion. Days of Old, with bluegrass and folk tunes, is a six-piece group of banjo, guitars, and violin.
Open for Tours, and Providing Activities
On the grounds, the Boone House and Bertolet Log House will be open all evening for tours. Visitors also may stroll the grounds as dusk falls. They can additionally enjoy activities and demonstrations in the historic area, including colonial toys, lawn games, tavern games, and basket weaving.

Zachary Long, museum educator at Pennsbury Manor, will present a colonial beer brewing demonstration throughout the evening.
