Grandview Can’t Catch A Break with Stormy Weather

Grandview Can’t Catch A Break with Stormy Weather

June 9, 2025

BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – It seems like Grandview Speedway can’t catch a break. For the second consecutive week – and seventh weekend – of its 2025 season, rain and on-and-off showers again forced cancellation of scheduled races Saturday night (June 7) at the venerable auto racing track at 43 Passmore Rd., Bechtelsville.

The speedway and surrounding area were subjected to heavy afternoon showers. Coupled with earlier rain throughout Saturday, they caused very wet track conditions, management says. The timing left “no chance to prepare for the evening’s race program,” the track reports.

This seventh weather cancellation to start the season is the most ever in Grandview Speedway’s 63-year history, track owners add.

Besides fans, one of Mother Nature’s victims was Grandview’s only showing of United Racing Club Sprint cars. The Sprints won’t be rescheduled this season, they note. However, Sprint car fans can still look forward to the USAC National Sprints arriving June 17, and PA 410 Sprint Car Speed Week on July 1.

The Speed Show Must Go On

Grandview now turns its attention to June 14 to present a NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program. It features the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds, and the T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman. Qualifying events are included for both classes, leading into a 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature and a 25-lap feature for the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman.

Rain checks or pit wristbands from May 17 may be used for the June 14 program, as this will be the last program to use the May 17 rain checks. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members. Pit gates will open at 4 p.m.

Adult grandstand admission is $20. Tickets for students ages 10-15 with identification cost $10; children ages 9 and younger are admitted free of charge. Grandstand gates open at 5:30 p.m.; warm-ups start at 6:15 p.m.; and the first race of the evening gets the green flag at 7:30 p.m.

Later on the Grandview Calendar

The second Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event will be held June 17 (Tuesday), as Levan Machine & Truck Equipment presents the Jesse Hockett Classic USAC National Sprint Car Series Eastern Storm opener. It includes time trials and qualifying events for the USAC Sprints leading up to the 40-lap feature event that pays $6000 to win.

On June 21, the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman will be in the spotlight. They’ll compete in their first Twin 20’s feature event, along with a full show for the T.P. Trailer Modifieds.
