SANATOGA PA – Saturday (June 7, 2025) marks the return of the annual Strawberry Festival, sponsored by the Lower Pottsgrove Historical Society. Visitors will find it filled with fun, food, entertainment, and – of course – ripe, juicy, and delicious strawberries.

The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, on the grounds of Sanatoga Chapel, 2341 E. High St. The chapel is a restored township landmark, and the home of the society’s museum and offices.
The festival has for years been a harbinger of the summer season. Its menu offers ice cream, pastries, and other treats, all featuring the bright red and ripe fruit. Lunch is available, in the form of barbeque sandwiches and hot dogs. Snacks are available too: enjoy soft pretzels, and a variety of home-baked goods.
Also returning to the festival is Pottstown area craft brewer, the Hares Hill Brewing Company, with its popular beer garden. It will present a variety of beer choices, including at least one that’s sure to be every beverage fan’s favorite.
Live Entertainment, Tours, and Information
Live musical entertainment, and some trivia questions too, will be provided by “Skip and Chickie.” Dancers from A Step In Time Dance Studio will perform at 11:30 a.m. Tours of the historic chapel and its collections will be available.

Members of CatNAPS Inc., a Pottstown-based feral feline rescue organization, will be on hand to talk about their work and cat adoption availabilities. Some of their latest “guests” are expected as well.
Those attending the festival also can enjoy:
- A “Gift Card Tree” raffle, featuring chances to win value-laden gift cards ready for purchases at local and nationally known merchants and retailers;
- A 50-50 raffle, and
- Games to keep kids and the young-at-heart interested and entertained.
Local, but regionally and nationally famous, celebrities also tend to show up on festival day to meet with fans and talk with former neighbors. There will be plenty of comfortable seating and tables, the property abounds in mature shade trees, and parking is free and readily available.
Active in Historical Preservation
Proceeds from the festival benefit the historical society and its activities. It exists to preserve the contributions Sanatoga and Lower Pottsgrove have made to the area’s history.
Members meet on the second Wednesday monthly at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel, and visitors are welcome to attend. It also holds a museum open house on the last Sunday monthly from 1-3 p.m., again at the chapel.
