Rock Summer Nights Away at Lower Frederick Concerts

May 28, 2025

PERKIOMENVILLE PA – The first of three monthly performances in the 2025 edition of Lower Frederick Township’s Summer Concert Series is scheduled to open during late June, the township Parks and Recreation Board reports.

All bands will appear on the last Thursday of the month (June 26, July 31, and Aug. 28, respectively) from 7-9 p.m. in the township’s Cuddy Park, 102 Colonial Dr. The summer concerts are free to attend and open to the public. Those who attend are encouraged to bring comfortable seating, or a lawn blanket on which to recline.

  • Kicking the series off June 26 (with a rain date, if needed, of July 2) is “The Left Edge.” The band is said to present “amazingly accurate and dynamic covers of the greats of rock-n’-roll, including The Beatles, Beach Boys, Eagles, Billy Joel, Styx, Monkees, and others.
  • Up second on July 31 (rain date: Aug. 7) is a Dave Matthews band experience offered by “Smooth Riders.” The Philadelphia-based group has a set list that includes the Matthews’ band’s hits and several deep cuts.
  • The series closes Aug. 28 (rain date: Sept. 4) with a show by “The Mighty Manatees.” It’s known for performances by everything from an acoustic duo to a 10-piece orchestra. It plays reggae, country, blues, folk, ska, funk, zydeco, and rock-n’-roll too.

Rain dates, if needed, will be announced on both the township website and its Facebook page.

Cuddy Park is well known for its meadow green space and nearby walking trails. It also provides an enclosed dog park with two play areas and ample seating for pet owners, a pavilion under which the bands are likely to play, and a paved parking area.
