SCHWENKSVILLE PA – Schwenksville’s “Music In The Meadow” concerts will be presented monthly on Wednesdays from June through August, and should keep listeners clapping their hands and stomping their feet, a Thursday (May 22, 2025) notice from the borough Activity Committee reports.
All three concerts are free to attend, and are planned as family- and pet-friendly events.
Music in The Meadow will be held – where else? – in Schwenksville’s scenic Meadow Park. It’s located behind borough hall and the community center at 300 Main St., and “nestled between the Perkiomen Trail and Perkiomen Creek.”
Scheduled for the public’s enjoyment are:
- Two performers on June 18 from 6-8:30 p.m. Special musical guest “School of Rock” opens the show; followed by main attraction “Hopwood.” Hopwood is described as “a highly talented five-piece band from Royersford” with hits from the ’70s to today;
- On July 16 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Schwenksville welcomes “American Ramblers,” called “a high-energy Rock n’ Roll band from the Philadelphia area with a distinct vintage rock” sound. American Ramblers play classic rock, and original music written by the band; and
- On Aug. 20 from 6-8 p.m., the Meadow will howl with “River Dawgs.” The band channels “a Philly powered-western vibe (in the video above) to deliver an eclectic array of classic country to modern rock sons.
Visitors should bring a chair or blanket for comfortable seating, and well-behaved pets can rock-out too.
About the Borough Activity Committee
The borough notes it has “a dedicated committee of volunteers who work together to plan special community events and activities. The goal of the Activity Committee is to plan and support various community events to promote a sense of vitality in the community.”
Among committee events is the summer concert series. It also is responsible for Community Day, “by far the largest event hosted by the borough.” It often attracts more than 300 visitors and 45 vendors. “It’s typically a day filled with music, arts and crafts, unique goods and services and lots of entertainment,” according to its website.
The committee “needs more volunteers and more creative ideas for special events that residents will enjoy,” it adds. If you have any ideas for events, or would like to help plan events, call Borough Hall at 610-287-7442.
