Piccolo Mondo Backs The Blue, With A Heart-Warming Offer

POTTSTOWN PA – All prepared meals have a cost. Well-prepared, chef-inspired meals often have a significant cost. Only a few meals have a value far beyond their price.
All this week, through Saturday (May 17, 2025), management and staff at Piccolo Mondo Italian Restaurant, 351 W. Schuylkill Rd., are serving up the latter to members of law enforcement and their families.
For free.
The restaurant is making what hundreds of Facebook commenters agree represents “an amazing gesture.” In observance of National Police Week (May 11-17), it is offering its “Feed the Family of 4” meals to uniformed police officers at no charge.
The dinner includes the family’s choice of chicken; the restaurant is well known for its authentic Italian cuisine varieties of Parmigiana, Marsala, or Piccata. They’re accompanied by penne vodka, house salad, and homemade bread.
Patrons ordering the same meal from Piccolo Mondo’s online menu would pay nearly $70. Many would consider it money well-spent. During the seven-day period, local police officers won’t pay a dime. They are asked to call and order their meals in advance, and they must show their badges at pick-up time.
There’s no catch, no quid pro quo; just a message from Piccolo Mondo itself. “Thank you for all you do risking your lives to save ours!,” the restaurant tells police on Facebook.
“This makes my heart happy,” one Facebook reader wrote. “My Dad was a policeman and it’s nice when they are shown appreciation for the risks they take to keep people safe.” “What an awesome gesture!,” another declared. “Thank you for supporting the blue!”
As of Wednesday (May 14), more than 400 people had praised or favorably commented on the Piccolo Mondo offer, and it has been shared more than a hundred times.

A ‘Best Of’ Dim Sum Winner, Without A Philly Drive

PHILADELPHIA PA – Of 11 places selected by Yelp! followers, and listed Wednesday (May 14, 2025) as a “collection” of best restaurants for dim sum in Philadelphia, only one is within local reach. That’s Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings, at 160 N. Gulph Rd. Ste. 4220, King of Prussia.
Yelp writers offered generally favorable news about Nan Xiang. “Locals from the Philly suburbs love this dim sum restaurant located in King of Prussia. (Its) reputation for some of the best soup dumplings in the city is supported by Michelin guide recommendations for nine consecutive years,” they say.
“Yelpers recommend trying their lucky six dumplings, which comes with 6 different of their uniquely-flavored dumplings,” the review adds. It notes the six “are made with all-natural ingredients.”
Of its full list, Yelp writes: “Order handmade dumplings. Order fragrant wonton soup. Order fluffy custard buns. And then order a bit more … Trying some of everything is the name of the game in this Philly Collection.” The remaining 10 dim sum favorites all are located within the city or its neighborhoods.
