COLLEGEVILLE PA – A wide selection of plants, many of them grown in gardens tended by the Master Gardeners of Montgomery County, will be available for public purchase May 17 (Saturday) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the county Farm, Home, and Youth Center, 1015 Bridge Rd.
The annually anticipated Master Gardeners’ sale differs from others in several ways:
- The Penn State Extension-trained gardeners offer a depth of plants that include vibrant flowers, vegetables, herbs, perennials, trees and shrubs;
- Because they are trained in horticulture – including plant selection, soil health, pest management, and sustainable gardening practices – Master Gardeners bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the sale; and
- Gardeners themselves will be on hand to help and advise buyers in choosing the right plants for their garden spaces.
Area residents interested in growing things, whether seasoned gardeners or those just starting out, are likely to benefit from Master Gardeners’ expert advice. They can answer questions, and provide free guidance and support for all gardening needs.
Proceeds from the sale will be used to conduct future Master Gardener volunteer community educational and outreach programs. For more information call 610-489-4315, or send an e-mail to montgomerymg@psu.edu.
