BECHTELSVILLE PA – Grandview Speedway, 43 Passmore Rd., hopes its third try will be a charm Saturday (April 19, 2025).
Rain, cold, and what the track describes as “miserable weather” has forced Grandview during two consecutive weeks to cancel its scheduled racing season opener. Now Saturday becomes the big day to launch the 8th annual VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker for Big and Small Block Modifieds.
The program will be highlighted by a 50-lap championship feature paying $7,500 to win, as well as $1,000 to qualify and take the green flag in the main event. The opening night program also includes a full show for the T.P. Truck Equipment 602 Sportsman, with qualifying events and a 25-lap feature race.
Grandview has coped with similar problems earlier in its 62 years of racing operations. Back-to-back rainouts have occurred in the 2007, 1993, 1991, 1989, 1987, 1982, and 1976 seasons. All got off to a delayed start due to rainy spring weather.
Races Sanctioned by NASCAR
The opening night program is sanctioned by NASCAR. Its events represent the first point races of new campaigns for the T.P. Trailer Modified and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman divisions. They count toward both the track and NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Championships.
Pit gates open Saturday at 1 p.m., grandstand gates open at 4 p.m., with warm-ups at 5 p.m., and qualifying starting at 6 p.m. Grandstand admission costs $30 for adults; $20 for students ages 10-15 with identification; and children ages 9 and younger are admitted free. Pit admission is $40 with a license, and $45 without a license.
And Next Weekend …
Next weekend, Grandview hosts two days of racing. Its Outlaw Racing Series leads off April 25 (Friday) with a 7 p.m. program featuring Enduro/Vintage and Slingshot racing. That event will be followed April 26 (Saturday) with a double-header: the T.P. Trailer Modifieds and the T. P. Truck Equipment Sportsman, Gates opening at 4 p.m.; racing starts at 6 p.m.
