NORRISTOWN PA – The launch of a new executive leadership development program intended to help “enhance the impact” of local leaders and professionals in Montgomery County was announced Tuesday (April 8, 2025).
Founded by the county Intermediate Unit Education Foundation, the Leadership Montco program plans to bring “together professionals and emerging leaders from business, education, government, and nonprofit sectors,” it reports. The goal is to cultivate “a network of change-makers committed to building a stronger, more connected community.”
Through the unit’s working relationships with county school districts, the foundation says it also “is committed to empowering the next generation of leaders through student-centered programming.” It anticipates helping “young leaders develop essential skills and drive positive change within their schools and the community,” it adds.
During the nine-month program, students “will engage with peers, educators, local professionals, and legislators,” according to its organizers, in “activities designed to foster self-awareness, advocacy, and innovation.”
The foundation is looking now for membership from among “established leaders in executive and mid-level positions” who are at least age 30. “Participants will engage in over 75 hours of immersive leadership training, gaining access to keynote speakers, site visits, and curated networking events,” the foundation says. It also will seek organizational sponsorships.
