The event aims to promote outdoor recreation, environmental education, and family engagement. It will be held along the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek, which runs through the park.

In addition to the potential thrill of landing a fish, those attending can learn from experts about Pennsylvania’s natural resources. They’ll discuss “our state’s diverse wildlife and the importance of conservation,” Pennycuick says.

Open to Kids of All Ages

The fishing derby is open to all youth. Advance registration is required by April 10, and is available online or by calling the senator’s Red Hill office at 215-541-2388.

Whether experienced or first-time anglers, all participants are welcome. Those attending are encouraged to bring their own fishing poles and bait.
