Seussical Jr. Leaps to Pottsgrove MS Stage This Weekend

March 26, 2025

POTTSTOWN PA – Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, and other favorite Dr. Seuss characters will spring to life Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights (March 27-29, 2025) in the musical “Seussical Jr.,” at Pottsgrove Middle School.

A sizable cast, crew, and orchestra delight their audiences with “Seussical Jr.,” described as a “musical extravaganza from Tony Award-winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.” Each of the three performances open at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at the school, 1351 N. Hanover St.

The Cat in the Hat narrates the story, “which transports audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus. It centers on Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos,” according to information from Music Theatre International.

“Horton has pledged to protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers. He also must guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.”

“Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!”
