Grandview Cancels in Storm Threat; Nature’s No Race Fan?

Grandview Fans Get Free Look Saturday at Race Practice

March 25, 2025

BECHTELSVILLE PA – The 63rd anniversary season of professional auto racing at Grandview Speedway, 43 Passmore Rd., officially begins April 5 (2025; Saturday) with the running of the VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker.

Before that, though, the public can look ahead to its annual opportunity to see track action from the grandstand Saturday (March 29) for free. Grandview’s traditional practice session is not only open to all racing divisions, but also to race fans at no charge.

Drivers have the opportunity to test their re-worked or brand-new equipment before seasonal competition gets under way. Fans get the chance to see favorite drivers for the first time this year, and to check out new cars on hand. Track concessions will be open, too.

Pit gates open Saturday at 10 a.m. The practice session starts at noon and runs until about 5 p.m. For those interested in visiting the pit area, admission costs $35 and no license is required. Also, fans who bought season passes can come to the track beginning at 10 a.m. to select their seats for the new season.

Money Maker Star of Opening Night

The April 5 Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker is open to both big- and small-block modified competitors. The race will be 50-laps and pays $7,500 to win, as well as $1,000 to take the main event green flag.

The T.P. Truck Equipment 602 Sportsman also begin their season on opening night, in a full show that includes qualifying events and a 25-lap feature race. It will be sanctioned by NASCAR, and is the first point race of the season for both the T.P. Trailer Modified and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman divisions. Results count toward both track and NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Championships.

Opening night’s race time is 6 p.m. Pit gates open at 1 p.m., grandstand gates open at 4 p.m., and the drivers meeting is at 4 p.m. It will be followed by the draw for position, then warm-ups at 5 p.m. Grandstand admission costs $30 for adults, $20 for students age 10-15 with identification, and those age 9 and younger are admitted free. Pit admission costs $40 with a license, and $45 without.

April 12 (Saturday) has been set aside as a rain date for the opener if needed. Otherwise, the track will offer a two-division program for the T.P. Trailer 358 Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment 602 Sportsman under the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series banner.

Season Passes Available for Purchase

Grandview management reports there is still time to buy a season pass, covering all Saturday night events though September. Passes do not include the Rogers family and Bob Miller-promoted “Thunder on the Hill” special events, or the “Outlaw Enduro/Vintage” race events.

Season passes are priced at $400 each, and can be purchased on Practice Day. They also can be ordered by sending a check or money order to Grandview Speedway, 87 Wilt Road, Bechtelsville PA 19505. Those ordering a pass for others should make note of that with their request. To speed delivery, orders should be accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope.
