In this edition of local business news, Tower Health‘s Reading Hospital is expanding medication delivery as a free service to the healthcare system’s patients. Limerick-based TP Trailers and TP Equipment continue as Grandview Speedway sponsors. Area offices of Bayada Home Health Care observe the company’s 50th anniversary.
Tower Expands Local Free Pharmacy Delivery Service
READING PA – Tower Health says its patients who see physicians in the Pottstown and Phoenixville areas can now take advantage of a free medication delivery service offered by its Reading Hospital pharmacy. The service intends to “make receiving medications even easier and more convenient,” Tower Health adds.
Tower Health patients can request home deliveries directly through the healthcare system’s MyTowerHealth app. Orders and refills can be delivered to any home in the state of Pennsylvania. The hospital’s home delivery service was previously only available within a 30-mile radius of West Reading.
“We want to simplify the process for medication access,” says Tower Health Vice President of Pharmacy Operations Stephanie Goldman, PharmD. She believes the service can “take one more thing off a patient’s to-do list.” It also helps those “who face challenges in picking up their medications from our retail pharmacies due to health issues, childcare limitations, or work schedules,” she explains.
Co-payments for ordered medications also must be completed through the MyTowerHealth app for home delivery, but there is no charge for the home delivery option. “Delivery times will range from same day to five days, depending on medication availability and delivery location,” it reports.
