In this edition of local business news, Grand View Health has agreed to join the St. Luke’s University Health Network; both have facilities in Pennsburg and Harleysville. Also, PennDOT hopes to fill job vacancies at four January job fairs.
Grand View Health to Become Part of St. Luke’s
SELLERSVILLE PA – Grand View Health, which operates outpatient centers in Harleysville and Pennsburg, has agreed to become part of St. Luke’s University Health Network, it announced Friday (Jan. 3, 2025).
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Grand View’s notice indicates the transaction is expected to be completed in mid-to-late 2025, pending regulatory review. Non-profit Grand View, with more than 2,000 employees, is struggling financially, several news outlets report.
The healthcare systems said during September they had “signed a non-binding letter of intent to partner.” Both boards of directors “were unanimous” in their votes favoring the combination.
Will Pennsburg, Harleysville Be Affected?
It’s not yet known how, if at all, the networks’ merger will affect Grand View’s Pennsburg and Harleysville operations. Location overlaps exist within the two systems. St. Luke’s operates an outpatient center and health center in Pennsburg; and pediatrics, women’s health, and gastroenterology offices in Harleysville.
Grand View is a nonprofit, community-based health system of more than 2,000 employees, serving portions of Bucks and Montgomery counties. Far-larger St. Luke’s also operates in and beyond the two counties, employs more than 20,000 people, and generates $4 billion in revenues from 15 hospital campuses and more than 350 outpatient sites in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
“Together as partners Grand View and St. Luke’s will enhance each organization’s ability to provide superb quality care and service for our patients and communities.” St. Luke’s President and CEO Rick Anderson said.

Can’t Attend A Job Fair? Submit Application Online
Applicants are encouraged to submit applications through the employment website, whether they can attend or not attend the hiring event. They can apply for jobs even if they do not live in the county where a position is available, PennDOT adds.
If applicants cannot submit an application on the website before a scheduled hiring event, state staffers with laptops will be available at all locations to provide assistance.
For positions requiring a commercial driver’s license (CDL), PennDOT notes it may conduct on-the-spot interviews. Driving tests will also be administered the same day, if available. CDL operators should bring their current driver’s license, and medical examiner certificate, to the event. Requirements for a CDL will be included with job descriptions.
PennDOT says it will train employees for a CDL if hired for a transportation equipment operator trainee position.
