PrimoHoagies, Mr. Wish Coming to Shoppes at Coventry
NORTH COVENTRY PA – Two new restaurants – one for sandwiches, one for beverages and snacks – have been reported as coming to The Shoppes at Coventry, 351 W. Schuylkill Rd.
A PrimoHoagies franchise began outfitting space in Suite A8 on the former Coventry Mall’s east side during mid-summer. However, renovations there were delayed July 18 (2024) by a North Coventry Township “stop work” order over permitting issues. Work seems to have restarted, and a webpage promises its Italian specialty sandwiches are “coming soon.”
The township’s building permit for the location indicates the fit-out construction cost is estimated at $125,000.
PrimoHoagies offers a wide variety of fresh hot and cold sandwiches, sides, chips, beverages, and desserts.
Announced to open immediately next door to PrimoHoagies is Mr. Wish, a franchise that features a range of milk, fruit, diced fruit, and winter melon teas; smoothies, sparkling beverages, and plain and custard waffle snacks. No opening date has been announced, although window signage says it too is “coming soon.”
The Pottstown location would be among the latest in the Mr. Wish chain’s continuing expansion in the state. Its stores can already be found at 27 Pennsylvania locations, many in Philadelphia, and locally in King of Prussia.

Neshaminy Creek Brewing Opens Taproom in Harleysville
HARLEYSVILLE PA – The former Harleysville National Bank building, in The Vault Town Center at 483 Main St., has been given new life. It officially re-opened Dec. 20 (2024; Friday) as the third taproom location of the Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company.
The old bank’s brightly polished vault, prominently located behind the bar, is among the new establishment’s architectural highlights. For the opening, its towering exterior columns were bathed in green light.
It’s taken awhile to bring the project together. The brewing company announced plans for the taproom in mid-January. Awaiting necessary permits and resulting construction apparently took longer than expected. The company had hoped the location could be opened during late spring, then pushed that back to fall, and was pleased to finally begin business this month.
Neshaminy Creek’s two other locations are in Bucks County. Its brewery and flagship taproom are in Croydon PA, and second taproom is in Dublin PA.
Outback Steakhouse Offers A Steak-cation Menu
ROYERSFORD PA – Outback Steakhouse, with locations in Royersford and Wyomissing, declares the 48-day period between Thursday (Jan. 2) and Feb. 18 (Tuesday) will represent its public “steak-cation.” That’s when the restaurant is offering a limited-time menu with five new selections, FSR Magazine reports.
Coming to Outback are:
- Canberra Chopped Steak, a seasoned and seared chopped steak topped with caramelized onions and mushrooms, then drizzled with a red wine demi-glaze;
- Chimichurri Filet, a seared filet topped with chimichurri sauce and Outback’s signature Bloomin’ Carrot Crunch. It’s paired with a potato and a side;
- Three-Cheese Steak Dip, a blend of seasoned steak and three creamy cheeses, topped with diced tomatoes and green onions, and served warm with crispy tortilla chips;
- Lavender Fields (spirit-free), described as a “refreshing blueberry lemonade” inspired by Australia’s serene lavender fields; and
- Koala Punch, a cocktail featuring a blend of gin, orange juice, and eucalyptus syrup essence. It’s topped with kombucha and a sprinkle of edible opal dust.

Taco Bell Introduces Crunchy Chicken Nuggets
IRVINE CA – It seems like every restaurant franchise, and some independents, are jumping on a chicken nugget bandwagon. There’s good reason, too. Nuggets represent a fast protein snack for adults, a whole meal for many kids, and are among the most inexpensive items on a menu. Taco Bell also has joined the parade, with its own twist.
The company claims its Crispy Chicken Nuggets defy nugget norms. They feature “a crunchy tortilla chip” and breadcrumb combination breading, covering an all-white meat chicken bite that is first marinated “in zesty jalapeño buttermilk flavor.”
They are being paired with a trio of dipping sauces: the first-ever Hidden Valley™ Fire Ranch Sauce, a new and “signature” Bell sauce, and sweet and hot Jalapeño Honey Mustard.
Taco Bell says its chicken nuggets will be available for a limited time, while supplies last. The national roll-out follows successful 2023 tests in Minneapolis, and this year in Houston. Locally, Taco Bell operates in Gilbertsville, Douglassville, Phoenixville, Harleysville, and Audubon.
