Berks Christmas Attraction Among Nation’s Best Displays

November 6, 2024

BERNVILLE PA – A perennial Christmas holiday landmark in Berks County has been named by U.S. News & World Report Travel to its list of “Best Christmas Light Displays (and) Tours for 2024.”

Designated by the news service as among its winners is Koziar’s Christmas Village, 782 Christmas Village Rd., Bernville. Koziar’s offers the opportunity for “a Christmas-themed stroll” that includes “homes, trees, fences, and more strung up with lights and wire-frame figures. You’ll also have the chance for photos with Santa, displays featuring a toy maker” and other activities, it says.

However author Marisa Méndez, editor Suzanne Mason, and reviewer Rachael Hood also are candid about reactions received from earlier visitors. “Travelers agree the lights are gorgeous, but many complained about the traffic (especially on Saturdays),” according to the Oct. 24 (2024) article. Some “felt the attractions did not justify the ticket price,” it adds.

“Lights are on from Nov. 2 to Jan. 1, though Koziar’s is only open on weekends up until Thanksgiving,” the piece observes. While specific hours depend on the month and day, with visiting hours generally from 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. or 10 p.m., rain or shine.

Admission pricing starts at $13 for adults, and $11 for children ages 4-10, payable on-site, and no reservations are needed. Children age 3 and younger are admitted free. Koziar’s adds a surcharge of $5 per ticket on what it calls its “prime nights,” generally on weekends and during Christmas Week. See its list of prime nights dates online.

The Koziar’s entry also suggests hotels and lodging for visiting out-of-towners.
