POTTSTOWN PA – Pottstown’s Driver License and Photo Center (above), operated at 204 Shoemaker Rd. by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, will be closed Nov. 9-11 (2024; Saturday through Monday) in observance of the Veterans Day holiday, the department announced.
Similar closures will occur at local PennDOT centers in Harleysville, King of Prussia, Norristown, and Reading, and others remaining statewide.
Customers may still obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services, including all forms, publications and driver training manuals, from PennDOT online. There are no additional fees for using online services, the department said.
Driver and vehicle online services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and include driver’s license, photo ID and vehicle registration renewals; driver-history services; changes of address; driver licensing and vehicle registration restoration letters; ability to pay driver license or vehicle insurance restoration fee; driver license and photo ID duplicates; and driver exam scheduling.
Need to check on highways?
Drivers can check conditions on major roadways by visiting the state’s website, 511PA.
The site provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. It’s available free and 24 hours a day online free. It also can be used from the 511PA smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices; or by calling 5-1-1.
Do you need REAL- ID?
Pennsylvania residents who travel on domestic aircraft, on or after May 7 (2025), will need a passport or other federally-accepted forms of identification to ensure they can board. Pennsylvania offers a REAL-ID compliant driver’s license or identification card to meet the need.
Information about the REAL-ID program is available online. Only six months remain before the law takes effect and becomes a requirement.
