Veterans’ Community Day Relocated to Red Horse Club

Veterans Community Day Relocated to Red Horse Club

September 27, 2024

POTTSTOWN PA – Saturday’s 2024 Pottstown Veterans Community Day ceremony, earlier scheduled to start at 11 a.m. in Memorial Park, is being relocated.

A borough hall announcement said the ceremony would be held Saturday (Sept. 28, 2024) at the same time, but would be moved to inside the Red Horse Motoring Club, 132 E. 3rd St.

Inclement weather is assumed to be the reason. The National Weather Service forecast for Pottstown says showers are “likely, mainly before 1 p.m.” The borough suggested those interested in attending should “please plan accordingly.”

The annual community day is an “gathering to honor the veterans” of U.S. Armed Forces, and to acknowledge “local veterans who have made a difference in the community following their years of service.” The event, sponsored by the Veterans’ Island Project, includes both the ceremony at later time for fellowship. It is expected to end at around 1 p.m., the borough says.

A supplemental mini stand-down, organized by the Veterans Coalition of Pennsylvania to assist veterans in need, “will still occur at the Memorial Park location in the pavilion as planned,” the borough added.
