SANATOGA PA – A fund-raiser to boost construction of the proposed Adventure Grove Inclusive Playground at Sanatoga Park attracted a crowd Saturday afternoon (Sept. 21, 2024).
The band Livewire (at left), whose players include Lower Pottsgrove Township Commissioner Bill Keohane, provided musical entertainment. Organizers sold tickets to a basket raffle (above) that featured many tables filled with gifts donated by local businesses. They event also offered a 50-50 drawing, and food and beverages, its Facebook page says.
The Pottsgrove Booster Club (below) also presented a $450 donation.
Adventure Grove, which has been in the planning and development stages for a few years, would replace the park’s existing tot-lot playground near its north end entrance.
Plans by Chattanooga TN consultant Play & Park Structures call for the installation of a new play surface and about a dozen pieces of play and exercise equipment (at top). All are purposely designed and created to be used by children of all ages and abilities.
“By creating play without limitations, we will build a fun and inclusive environment that looks beyond the obvious abilities or disabilities of others,” its Facebook page adds. Construction could start next year.
