Monday, Sept. 2 (Labor Day)
- Labor Day Holiday, officially signed into law during 1894 by President Grover Cleveland, although many labor unions and other working groups observed the day years before the federal declaration
- Music: “The Ringgold Band,” 10 a.m. to noon, free admission and parking; featured in the 3rd annual Labor Day concert sponsored by the Berks County Parks and Recreation Department; bring lawn chairs and blankets for comfortable seating, and a picnic lunch to enjoy while listening (although snack bar will be open in the nearby barn); at the Berks County Heritage Center, 1102 Red Bridge Rd., Reading PA
- Double Loyalty Points Sale, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., free to browse; offering double loyalty points on all qualifying purchases, usable for future discounts, at Worthwhile Thrift, 201 2nd Ave., Collegeville PA
- Labor Day Weekend Sidewalk Sales, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., free to roam; participating retailers will have sale merchandise on tables and rolling racks outside their stores; at Philadelphia Premium Outlets, 18 W. Lightcap Rd., Limerick PA
Tuesday, Sept. 3
- Holiday Trash and Recycling Collection, throughout the day, in Lower Pottsgrove Township PA; replaces normal Monday schedule due to Labor Day holiday (Sept. 2)
- Performers’ Open Mic Night, 8-10 p.m., free to attend and participate; performers with music, magic, comedy and other entertainment skills show their stuff to a new audience, call 610-440-3090; at the Oaks Center Cinema, 180 Mill Rd., Oaks PA
Thursday, Sept. 5
- Scrabble Club, 10 a.m. to noon, free to participate, join other adult word lovers Thursdays to play Scrabble, at Boyertown Community Library, 24 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown PA
- Evening Farmers Market, 4-8 p.m., free to attend, scheduled by Building A Better Boyertown with live music by a performer to be announced, accompanied by food trucks, featuring 20 or more market vendors; Cruise Night theme with a pop-up car show; held in the parking lot of the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles, 129 S. Reading Ave., Boyertown PA
- Music: “Unplugged with Tom Flott,” 6-10 p.m., free admission (suitable for all ages); “enjoy drinks and catch a live acoustic performance by Tom Flott under the stars in the Rivet courtyard;” at Rivet: Canteen and Assembly, 238 E. High St., Pottstown PA
- Pottstown School Board Policy and Personnel Committee Meeting, 6:30-7:30 p.m., held virtually
- Music: “Karaoke with Tony Cadaver, 7-10 p.m., free (food and beverages available for purchase), featuring “Karaoke on the Rocks” featuring DJ Tony Cadaver “for nights of unquestionably questionable vocal talent;” at Manatawny Still Works, 320 Circle of Progress Dr #104, Pottstown PA
- Pottstown School Board Curriculum Committee Meeting, 7:30-8:30 p.m., held virtually
