- Night Cemetery Tour and Moonrise Watch, starts at 7:15 p.m., ticketed (reservations required); conducted by the Historical Society of Montgomery County and led by its executive director, Barry Rauhauser; , learn the histories of some famous cemetery occupants, and then watch the moon rise, free parking within the cemetery gates; at historic Montgomery Cemetery, 1 Hartranft Ave., Norristown PA
- Full Moon Hike, 8-9 p.m., free (but advance registration required); experience a nearly 2-mile hike under the full moon, led by Park Ranger Dave, see nocturnal animals and experience the starry sky; wear sturdy shoes for hiking; at Norristown Farm Park, 2500 Upper Farm Rd., Norristown PA
Tuesday, Aug. 20
- Property Tax And Rent Rebate Program Assistance, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., free to attend (appointments required by calling 484-200-8265), sponsored by state Rep. Joe Ciresi, offering help to qualified residents to apply for state and Pottstown schools’ tax and rent rebates, at Pottstown Borough Hall, 100 E. High St., Pottstown PA
Wednesday, Aug. 21
- First Day of School in the Pottsgrove School District, Pottstown PA
- Ice Cream Social, 5-6 p.m., at Rupert Elementary School, 1230 South St., Pottstown PA
- St. Teresa of Calcutta Community Festival, starts at 6 p.m., free admission (ticketed rides, activities, food, and beverages); conducted by and on behalf of St. Teresa of Calcutta Church, featuring rides by Tons of Fun Shows (wristband nights Wednesday and Thursday), games, food, live entertainment; held at the church, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville PA
- Music: “Little Sister (rock, pop, and dance),” from 6-8 p.m., free admission, summer community concert hosted by Schwenksville Borough, visitors must bring a chair or blanket to sit on, food available for purchase from Boy Scouts of America Troop 105, at Meadow Park, 300 Main St., Schwenksville PA
- Back-to-School Themed Bingo, starts at 7 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.), ticketed; offering a total total of $2,550 in cash prizes for the 11 rounds, all proceeds go to the Lower Pottsgrove Historical Society, full bar and food available from Gatsby’s Pub; at SoulJoel’s at SunnyBrook, 50 Sunnybrook Rd., Pottstown PA
