POTTSTOWN PA – Limber up, runners! August 27 (2024; Tuesday) represents the last chance this year to participate in the “Tuesdays in the Park Ice Cream Run,” hosted by the Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department.
The popular training event is available as a ticketed 5-K race for adults, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the borough’s Riverfront Park, 140 College Dr. There’s also a free fun run for kids, which begins at 6:45 p.m. Earlier runs were held during June and July.
The course is flat and fast, the department said. Prize medals will be awarded to first overall male and female, as well as first, second, and third place finishers in each of 10 different age groups.
Additionally, every child participating in the Ice Cream Run receives a prize; all runners (kids and adults) receive free ice cream treats after the event; and runners age 21 and older also receive a free beer at Iron Gate Biergarten, 230 E. High St.
Race-day registration costs $25, but online advance registration may offer a discount for those who act quickly.
The race is sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation, Iron Gate Biergarten, Keystone Running and Walking, Orange Theory, and Phoenix Physical Therapy.
