Local Fulton Bank Offices Remain Open in Consolidation

POTTSTOWN PA – Fulton Bank branches in Pottstown and Exeter (Berks County) will remain open, as the bank apparently prepares to close 13 other offices, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported.

Journal Senior Reporter Jeff Blumenthal wrote Monday (July 22, 2024) that the Philadelphia-area office closings were part of the Fulton Financial Corp. “acquisition of the failed Republic First Bancorp.” Fulton’s April assumption of assets at troubled Republic First was assisted by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

In the acquisition, Fulton added 32 Republic First branches in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. The change “nearly doubled Fulton’s presence in the Philadelphia region,” the story stated.

All of the affected branches, Blumenthal reported, are in “legacy Fulton” locations in or around the city. Four are in Pennsylvania; nine in New Jersey. A federal Securities and Exchange Commission filing indicated they are expected to close on or about Nov. 22.
