Sanatoga Pizza claims it is “coming soon” to Sanatoga, with a hefty menu; and local Applebee’s restaurants offer three new, extra crispy chicken sandwiches.
Sanatoga Pizza Seemingly Offering More than ‘Pies’
LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – A restaurant named “Sanatoga Pizza” proclaims it is “coming soon,” and intends to open for business at 2209 E. High St. in Lower Pottsgrove’s Sanatoga Village. It will occupy a majority of the building that formerly housed Rika Pizza, and which began restaurant life years ago as Bella Italia.
Sanatoga Pizza’s online menu also indicates its owners plan to offer patrons far more fare than just slices and pies.
Construction workers have been seen working within the location over several weeks. Signs outside the building (at top) have reported its impending arrival for about as long.
Just when is “soon” is not indicated on the signage. Travels with The Post called a listed phone number in an attempt to reach restaurant managers or owners for more details, and left a message for the recipients. It has not yet heard back from a representative.
The restaurant is in the process of building out its website, at SanatogaPizza.com. Although not fully functional as of Tuesday (June 25, 2024), of real interest to local foodies may be its online menu listings. They include:
- Fifty-two different pizzas in seven styles, with the largest selection under a “gourmet” category;
- Speciale de Casa (house special) platters in various combinations of chicken, veal, and seafood served with pasta, and salad or soup; as well as
- Calzones and strombolis, burgers, sandwiches, hoagies and grinders, steaks, wraps, gyros, quesadillas, pasta in regular and baked varieties, salads, soups, appetizers, wings, and desserts.

Applebee’s Promotes Hand-Breaded Sandwiches
POTTSTOWN PA – Applebee’s Restaurants LLC, with Applebee’s Grill + Bar locations in Pottstown, Royersford, and Audubon, is giving a thumbs-up to hand-breading.
The chain this month introduced three new hand-breaded chicken sandwiches. Each features “a juicy chicken breast hand-breaded and cooked to perfection, with various toppings and sauces,” it said. All are served on a brioche bun with classic fries.
Hand-breading, according to Applebee’s Head of Culinary Chef Shannon Johnson, enhances the sandwiches’ crispiness and flavor.
Three varieties are offered for a limited time:
- Bacon Ranch Crispy Chicken Sandwich, with the protein topped by two strips of applewood-smoked bacon, a house-made ranch drizzle, pickles, and shredded lettuce;
- Sweet & Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich, with the breast smothered in sweet Asian chile sauce, accompanied by the company’s “signature coleslaw;” and
- Bacon Cheddar Crispy Chicken Sandwich, with chicken topped with two slices of cheddar cheese, two strips of applewood-smoked bacon, house-made tangy bacon sauce, lettuce, tomato, and pickles.
