LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Construction is scheduled for Sunday through Friday (June 9-14, 2024) on U.S. Route 422 under two Montgomery County improvement projects. The work will be within Lower Pottsgrove, and Upper and Lower Providence townships, the state Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced.
The department reported the following travel restrictions:
- A single-lane closure Sunday through Thursday overnights from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, on eastbound 422 between the Phoenixville-Collegeville and Bridgeport-Valley Forge interchanges in Upper and Lower Providence, for saw-cutting and concrete patching;
- A periodic lane closure Monday through Friday daily from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m., on westbound 422 between Evergreen Road and Armand Hammer Boulevard in Lower Pottsgrove, for shoulder reconstruction; and
- A periodic lane closure Monday through Friday daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on eastbound 422 between Keim Street and Evergreen Road in Lower Pottsgrove, for roadway reconstruction.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. Backups and delays will occur, PennDOT warned. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather.
The concrete patching between the Phoenixville and Trooper Road interchanges is part of a $6.9 million project. It intends to restore pavement on eastbound U.S. 422.
The shoulder and roadway reconstruction in Lower Pottsgrove are part of an $83.6 million project. Its goal is to reconstruct and improve the highway. It also involves replacing two bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.
