Master Gardeners’ June 8 Workshop Covers Weed Control

Master Gardeners’ June 8 Workshop Covers Weed Control

May 27, 2024

COLLEGEVILLE PA – An in-person workshop, intended to help gardeners enhance their lawns and gardens by understanding and managing weeds, is scheduled for June 8 (2024; Saturday) starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Maple Room of the Montgomery County 4H Center, 1015 Bridge Rd., Collegeville PA.

The free event is being held by the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Montgomery County.

Participants will learn to distinguish invasive and noxious weeds from beneficial native weeds that contribute to an ecologically sound landscape. They also will learn how to control or eradicate undesirable weeds, using a knowledge of their life cycles and an integrated pest management approach.

Advance registration is required because seating is limited. Call toll-free at 1-877-345-0691 to register. Donations will be appreciated. Free parking will be available. For more information about the workshop call 610-489-4315.

The workshop presenters are Master Gardener volunteers specially trained and certified by Penn State Extension. Master Gardeners provide education on a broad range of horticultural topics, and can advise community residents on best practices based on university research and recommendations.
