Last Lick! Final Pottstown Ice Cream Run Set for Aug. 27

Limber Up for Pottstown Ice Cream Run, Scheduled Tuesday

June 20, 2024

POTTSTOWN PA – Limber up, runners! Tuesday (June 25, 2024) is the next opportunity to participate in the monthly “Tuesdays in the Park Ice Cream Run,” hosted by the Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department.

Limber Up for Pottstown 'Ice Cream Run,' Scheduled Tuesday

The popular training event is available as both a ticketed 5-K race for adults, and a free fun run for kids. They are scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. in the borough’s Riverfront Park, 140 College Dr. Remaining runs are also scheduled for July 23 and Aug. 27.

The course is flat and fast, the department said. Prize medals will be awarded to first overall male and female, as well as first, second, and third place finishers in each of 10 different age groups.

Additionally, every child participating in the Ice Cream Run receives a prize, all runners (kids and adults) receive free ice cream treats after the event, and runners age 21 and older also receive a free beer at Iron Gate Biergarten, 230 E. High St.

Advance registration for the June 5-K costs $22.50. Don’t wait until the last minute, by the way; race day registrations cost $25. Looking to save more money? The department offers registration to a “bundle” of the three remaining races, including this Tuesday’s outing, at a discounted price.

Unable to join Tuesday’s Ice Cream Run, but want to put in the work during the final two months? Register online here for the July event, and here for the August race.

Runners will find themselves in plenty of company Tuesday. As of this week the June event included nearly 120 participants.

The races are sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation, Iron Gate Biergarten, Keystone Running and Walking, Orange Theory, Runegades, and Runner’s Phunk.
