COLLEGEVILLE PA – The popular Collegeville Colossal Yard Sale, which in past years has attracted up to 3,000 shoppers, returns to the borough (Sept. 14, 2024; Saturday ) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Waterworks Park, 220 W. First Ave.
The sale is moving ahead after its sponsor, the Collegeville Economic Development Corporation (CEDC), postponed it from last Saturday (Sept. 7) due to the threat of rain.
This Saturday’s “weather promises to be beautiful during the sale,” according to the CEDC, “with a low of 67 degrees and a high of 84. Come out with the family and enjoy strolling through the park while on the hunt for special finds and treasures!”
What you’ll find Saturday
The yard sale “is laid out along (the park’s) tree-shaded paved paths, and represents a great opportunity to pick up some exciting … low-cost finds from your neighbors,” CEDC President Cathy Kernen explains. The sale is handicapped accessible, and free parking for shoppers is offered on the park’s large and adjacent playing field.
The event will feature more than 80 sellers; freshly made donuts, coffee, and tea available for purchase from Donut NV; and breakfast and lunch items from Mallies Burgers.
Sellers present a wide variety of items. Among their tables bargain hunters are likely to find antiques and collectibles, jewelry, clothing for all ages, kids’ toys, and plenty of household items. Expect to find furniture, china and glassware, too; as well as holiday decorations, books, compact discs, power and hand tools, and other goods.
Park visitors also can benefit from a shaded playground area for kids.
Sale proceeds benefit the non-profit CEDC, which works to promote businesses in the Collegeville area and organizes fun events for area families throughout the year.
