In this installment of Pottstown Foodie, Paradise Bistro in Limerick pleases Caribbean and American tastes. Also locally, May is Burger Month at Iron Hill Brewery, and Popeyes adds a different chicken sandwich to its menu.
Caribbean and American Dishes at Paradise Bistro
LIMERICK PA – “Paradise Bistro (above) now offers both traditional and authentic Caribbean and American dishes” in its full-service restaurant at Suite 701 in the Philadelphia Premium Outlets, 18 Lightcap Rd., Limerick, the outlets reported in an e-mail newsletter.
“A relaxing Caribbean-style musical atmosphere” is part of the restaurant’s “family-style setting,” it added.
Dishes include “jerked chicken and salmon, oxtails, curried chicken, soups, curry and garlic shrimp served up with rice & beans or white rice, and cabbage and sweet plantains.” They exist “alongside traditional dishes including hamburgers, fish, chicken tenders, fries,” and others, the newsletter said.
A featured Sunday morning breakfast and brunch in part offers ackee and salt fish, a Jamaican national dish, “served up with sausage, egg, and cheese.”
May is Burger Month at Iron Hill Brewery Locations
PHOENIXVILLE PA – May 2024 is Burger Month, the Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant chain, announced. With locations in Phoenixville, West Chester, and Exton, the company is offering diners 31 different burgers over the month’s 31 days. As might be expected, they’re being paired with its range of beers.

Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich Lands at Popeyes Locations
MIAMI FL – Popeyes Louisana Kitchen, a national chain known for its chicken creations, introduced a new Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich to its menu Tuesday (May 7, 2024), Food and Wine magazine said. There are Popeyes locations in Pottstown, as well as in King of Prussia, Norristown, and Reading.
The sandwich features Popeyes buttermilk-battered, all-white meat chicken patty in regular and blackened varieties, topped with a sweet-and-tangy golden honey mustard barbecue sauce. It is served on a buttered-and-toasted brioche bun, accompanied by pickle slices.
As options at additional cost, customers can add Havarti cheese or applewood smoked bacon.
