Weekend Stuff May 3-5: A Past Travels Calendar

POTTSTOWN PA – Pottstown Nights Car Shows return downtown Saturday to open their 2024 season. The day also includes an outdoor High Street concert at Rivet, an earlier hangout at Hollywood Garage, and kicks off with an auto swap meet at The Eastwood Company. You have no excuse to stay home this weekend; look for the 🏆.

Not into cars, or searching for other fun stuff to do this weekend? Visit the annual PowWow on the Manatawny in Pottstown. Enjoy the family fun at Pottsgrove Manor’s Colonial Mayfair. Find hours of activities available as Royersford officially re-opens Victory Park.

The Travels With The Post calendar lists more than 30 activities and events occurring Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (May 3-5, 2024) in western Montgomery, eastern Berks, and northern Chester counties.

Saturday, May 4

  • Coddington View Community Yard Sale, 7-11 a.m., free to attend, rain or shine, on Sage View Drive in Pottstown PA
  • 🏆 Eastwood Company Spring Swap Meet, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., free to attend and ticketed for vendors, car parts and accessories sale, at The Eastwood Company, 263 Shoemaker Rd., Pottstown PA
  • Outdoor Flea Market and Vendor Event, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., free to attend and ticketed for vendors, conducted by the Norco Fire Company, food and beverages available for purchase on site, held at the fire station, 144 W. Schuylkill Rd., Pottstown PA
  • Farm Planting Day, 9 a.m. to noon, free to attend, “become a farmer for an hour, or all four, and help GreenAllies’students plant the organic farm; rain date is Sunday (May 5) during same hours, at Prout Farm Park, 250 W. Moyer Rd., Pottstown PA
  • Royersford Farmers Market Opening Day, 9 a.m. to noon, free to attend and free parking, held in the lot across from Victory Park at 251 Second Ave., Royersford PA
  • Shredding Day, 9 a.m. to noon (or until shredding truck is filled), ticketed, businesses can register in advance by calling 610-489-6660; benefits the Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce, first 100 vehicles receive a swag bag with promotional items, at Verge Church, 106 W. 3rd Ave., Trappe PA
  • Leo’s League Fun Fest, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., free to attend, benefits the Leo’s League Pediatric Cancer Fund to help local families fight pediatric cancer; features live entertainment, vendors, crafters, food trucks, “cool” cars, a kids craft area, two raffles, exhibits, demonstrations, goat snuggling, mascots, and a racing simulator; held at the Schnecksville Fire Company Social Club, 4550 Old Packhouse Rd., Schnecksville PA
  • Community Shred Event, 9:30-11:30 a.m., free (a $10 per vehicle donation per vehicle to support the Pottstown GoFourth Festival is suggested), up to 3 boxes of material accepted for shredding per vehicle, sponsored by the Borough of Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department and Pottstown GoFourth Festival, held at the rear entrance of Smith Family Plaza, 100 E.   • Community Farm Planting Day, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., free to participate, help Althouse Arboretum students plant 800 vegetables in its community garden, all harvests distributed to families in need throughout the region, held at Prout Farm Park, 145-429 W. Moyer Rd., Pottstown PA
  • Exhibit: “Jamie Wyeth: Unsettled,” 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., ticketed, tracing a persistent vein of intriguing imagery in the career of renowned artist Jamie Wyeth, on display through June 9 at the Brandywine Museum of Art, 1 Hoffman’s Mill Rd., Chadds Ford PA
  • Royersford Victory Park Opening Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with food trucks, music acts, a magician, caricature artist, giant bubbles, a pickleball demonstration, and other activities, at the park, S. 3rd Avenue, Royersford PA
  • 11th annual Powwow on Manatawny Creek, gates open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., free (but contributions are suggested at $5 per person or $10 per family), a celebration of the heritage and contributions of this region’s Native Americans, Grand Entry begins each day at noon, includes dance exhibitions, crafts, displays, and food; children welcome, visitors are recommended to bring comfortable chairs to sit on for the event, at Riverfront Park, 140 College Dr., Pottstown PA

  • Exhibit: “Height Marks on the Door Frame,” 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., free, the Ursinus College Annual Student Exhibition 2024, showing the artworks in a variety of media by the college’s students, at the on-campus Berman Museum of Art, 601 E. Main St., Collegeville PA
  • Annual Colonial Mayfair, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (depending on the weather), free (but a donation of $4 per person is suggested); join in a maypole celebration with festive music, meet living history interpreters and crafters offering locally made goods, see puppet shows, watch demonstrations, participate in games and hobby horse races; free visitor parking available at nearby Memorial Park with complementary shuttle service to and from Pottsgrove Manor; held at the historic manor, 100 W.
