Update: Pottstown Dunkin’ Quietly Re-Opened Tuesday

May 1, 2024

POTTSTOWN PA – Employees of Dunkin’ Donuts at 1495 E. High St. acknowledged Tuesday (April 30, 2024) it had taken longer than estimated – “a lot longer,” one said with a laugh – to remodel and re-open the store.

Back on March 27 (see an earlier story below), they told customers the shop would be closed for just a week while it was being spruced up. Instead, it took four weeks. The store re-opened without fanfare Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

The remodeling may have been far more extensive than employees knew. The cost of four construction permits alone, issued by the Borough of Pottstown for mechanical, building, electrical, and plumbing renovations, amounted to more than $5,300. They indicate the value of the work performed was significantly higher.

Contractors installed new flooring, wall tiles, a counter, and a dropped ceiling, the permits show. They put in a new ventilation hood, a new electrical panel and lighting fixtures, and new plumbing.

The results bring the 1,600-square-foot store more visually and functionally in line with other area Dunkin’ locations constructed in recent years. The property was built in 1955, Montgomery County property records show, and became a Dunkin’ location in 2015.

Pottstown Dunkin’ Closing Temporarily to Remodel

POTTSTOWN PA – Crews are expected to begin work Thursday (March 28, 2024) on a remodeling of the Dunkin’ location at 1495 E. High St., Pottstown, its employees reported.

The spruce-up is accompanied by a temporary complication: for about a week, you’ll need to go elsewhere for your Dunkin’ fix.

Due to the work ahead the Pottstown store was shuttered at closing time Wednesday night (March 27), and will remain closed until April 4 (the following Thursday). Customer service will be unavailable during the period, they added.

Customers picking up take-out orders Monday morning (March 25) were notified of the work with a short but colorful notice attached to their goods. “A New Look Coming Soon,” it proclaimed (above at right). “This restaurant is temporarily closed for remodel. Visit our nearby locations in the meantime,” it stated.

The go-to alternative it recommended? That’s the Dunkin’ Donuts store at 6 Kugler Rd. in Limerick.
