Inclusive Clay Plans New Accessible Ceramic Art Sessions

Inclusive Clay Plans New Accessible Ceramic Art Sessions

April 29, 2024

POTTSTOWN PA – Inclusive Clay, the Pottstown-based non-profit that offers accessible ceramic art classes intended for individuals with intellectual disabilities, on Monday (April 29) announced its latest list of available mini-sessions scheduled for the summer.

Two sessions in June

Two four-week sessions, each consisting of 2-hour classes that meet weekly, are planned for Thursdays from June 6-27; and for Fridays from June 7-28. Both will be held at ArtFusion 19464, in the Beech Street Factory, 341 Beech St. Unit 1.

Participants will hand-build pieces, explore surface treatments and decoration, and their work will be glazed and fired to completion. Participants must meet program requirements and must attend with a support person who will stay with the participant for the duration of the class time.

Online registration for either closes by May 10, or when sessions are filled. Each session costs $137.50; limited scholarships may be available for those who qualify.

July-August mini-session

A third four-week session consisting of weekly 2-hour classes on Fridays is planned July 26 to Aug. 16, also at ArtFusion 19464. The session is similar to those scheduled in June (above), but is limited to a maximum of 5 participants. Those interested are encouraged to register online promptly before availability ends. Each session costs $137.50; limited scholarships may be available for those who qualify.

Historic Yellow Springs partnerships

Inclusive Clay also reported it would partner with Historic Yellow Springs to offer more classes during the fall. It anticipates opening a session to be held in the organization’s newly renovated building, which will be Americans With Disabilities Act-compliant and have accessible parking.

That announcement follows on the heels of Inclusive Clay’s partnership at the Historic Yellow Springs Spring Art Show, which is under way through May 12 in the Lincoln Building, Art School Road, Chester Springs.
