Southeast Veterans’ Center Thanks Volunteers with Lunch

Southeast Veterans’ Center Thanks Volunteers with Lunch

April 9, 2024

SPRING CITY PA – Volunteers who donate their time and talents to staff members and residents of the Southeastern Veterans’ Center, 1 Veterans Dr., are being honored with a luncheon during April.

The center will hold an offsite volunteer luncheon April 24 (2024; Wednesday) at 11:30 a.m., the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs said. During this event, two area high school students will receive the Presidential Service Award for volunteering more than 100 hours in less than one year.

Overall in 2023, 92 active volunteers collectively contributed 4,015 volunteer hours to the Southeastern Center.

The department noted volunteers provide valuable assistance to the staff at its homes across the state. They help transport residents to events, work during meal times, participate in fun activities, staff the snack stand, and accompany veterans on field trips.

Throughout the month, each of the department-operated homes will acknowledge their volunteers’ importance with special events, including dinners, luncheons, and ceremonies. Senior leaders from the agency will visit each home to personally thank the volunteers.
