CHARLOTTE NC – McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme claim they “have a sweet update for doughnut fans everywhere.”
The corporations announced Tuesday (March 26, 2024) they agreed the hamburger chain will sell a selection of the doughnut maker’s goods nationwide, under a gradual roll-out beginning in the second half of 2024. It will require time, however; McDonald’s said it may take until the end of 2026 for all its restaurant locations to sell Krispy Kreme products.
There was no word in media releases distributed by the firms about when the doughnuts might arrive in western Montgomery, eastern Berks, or northern Chester counties. McDonald’s operates more than a dozen stores in the TriCounty area. The closest Krispy Kremes are in Haverford and North Wales PA, and Collingswood NJ.
“Three of (the) most popular doughnuts will be delivered fresh to McDonald’s restaurants every day,” according to Krispy Kreme. Available individually or in boxes of six, starting at breakfast and continuing throughout the day while supplies last, will be its Original Glazed® Doughnut, Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles Doughnut, and Chocolate Iced Kreme™ Filled Doughnut.
The pair previously tested doughnut sales at about 160 McDonald’s locations in Lexington and Louisville KY. The results, they said, generated “consumer excitement, and demand exceeded expectations.”
