SCHWENKSVILLE PA – In what it describes as a “new outreach to the community,” the Perkiomen Valley Art Center in April will offer its second season of spring art classes for adults and seniors at a new location, historic Pennypacker Mills, 5 Haldeman Rd.
On the center’s schedule are:
- Oil and Acrylic Painting, with instructor Aina Roman, on six Wednesdays (April 3 to May 8) from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day, at a cost of $150 for center members and $180 for non-members. “The class is intended for realistic and abstract styles among intermediate- and advanced-level oil and acrylic painters. Individual guidance will be provided throughout the class to help each student develop their unique style.” Register online;
- Introduction to Intermediate Pastels, with instructor Cathy McIlhenny, on six Wednesdays (April 3 to May 8) from 1-3:45 p.m. each day, at a cost of $150 for center members and $180 for non-members. “Now is your chance to learn pastel painting from the beginning. If you are already a pastelist, this is an opportunity to hone your skills and enjoy a live classroom environment with fellow pastel artists.” Register online; and
- Beginning-to-Intermediate Oil Painting, with instructor Jim Green, on five Thursdays (April 4 to May 2), from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day, at a cost of $125 for center members and $145 for non-members. “This class is for beginning and intermediate level oil painting students. All students get individualized attention throughout the class.” Register online.
The Perkiomen Valley Art Center is a non-profit organization, founded in 1957, to further art appreciation and direct involvement with the arts by providing cultural programs and exhibitions by area artists. Its presentations and show receptions are free and open to the public.
